Would you like to have some maternity images taken free of charge - yes, I did say that - FREE OF CHARGE.

So what’s catch -  it is only a tiny catch, I promise.

I am looking for a lovely belly that doesn’t mind being shown to the world.  So that means that I am looking for an expectant mum to be that feels comfortable in her own skin, as I plan to use these photographs on my website and other marketing materials or even a competition or two.

INTEREST YOU - read on

1. although I am looking for a lovely Mum to be, ideally I would love the Dad to be in some of these images to - come Dads, don’t be shy.

2. I am roughly looking for someone that is no more than 32 weeks pregnant.   Of course, if you are feeling super mobile, capable of getting up and down, lying on your back, and going on a little bush trek to get to our chosen location, then please feel free to give me a bell - we are all different.

3. you will receive all of the images I plan to use as full resolution digital files (roughly 10 images - more if I have them).  And just because I am super nice, you will also receive these images printed 5×7.5 inches.   You may also have the opportunity to then purchase other products at a seriously reduced rate -  50% of my retail rates.

STILL INTERESTED - read on

4. i will require you to sign a model release.

5. again, these images are for use on my website, and marketing materials and to enter competitions.

WHEN when when, I hear you say.  Well I am wanting to take advanage of the yummy warm weather, so I am thinking perhaps the last two weekends in March.

7. Umm, what else - of course you will receive the digital files (roughly 10), 5×7.5 images and 50% off full retail for everything else.

8. this will be as simple as picking that particular family out of a hat.

ABSOLUTELY, I HAVE THE YUMMY TUMMY AND I AM READY TO GO.

9. please email me your photo to robyn@robyngeeringphotography.com, and include your telephone number so we can have a chat.

I was simply bursting with pride last week - bursting.

Here are just a few images of Ruby and Will’s school swimming carnival.  By the end of the day, I felt exhausted from running up and down the side of the pool snapping photos, and cheering my kids on, and doing my absolute best not to be one of THOSE mums - you know what I mean.  I seriously hope I didn’t emabarass my children.

Here is why I was exhausted.  Ruby swam the 50m and 100m of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke AND butterfly.  And if this hasn’t exhausted you yet, she then turned around and swam the individual medley.  OK, a little bit of mummy bragging here - she won every race except for the 2 breaststroke races where she came second.  She was the only female competitor in 100m butterfly, so she raced against the boys, and she won.

Inbetween Ruby’s swims, Will competed in the 50m of all strokes, with 2 firsts, a second and a third.

So there you go, I can just have this little moment to be the proudest mum in the world.

Oh, and by the way, the kids were exhausted to :-)

Sometimes life gets way to busy, you know what I mean.  It’s like the plumber having leaky pipes scenario.  Well this is my challenge to myself and I am calling it “Mine on Monday”.  The plan is to document the lives of my children one by one, two by two and three by three if I possibly can.  I want to document their lives and our lives on a weekly basis.  So this is where I start - on one very wet weekend.  I just cannot remember a weekend with weather quite like the one we have just had.  Sometimes we seem to go months without a spot of rain, and now as I type, the thunder clouds have just tumbled back in.

So these images are all very wet.  I love this first image, but for the life of me, I don’t think I could re-create it.  Do not try this at home, unless you completely want to destroy your gear.   The effect is caused by my lens getting very wet and fogging up (thank heavens for Canon’s L-series lens).

Harriet didn’t bother with an umbrella, she just headed on out there.  These image involve me saying “Smile Harriet, I want to see where your tooth has come out”  It’s her first tooth.

For those of you that would like to see the face behind Robyn Geering Photography, well this is lil old me.  This image is not taken by me, it was taken by the lovely Liana Hall nee Lehman last Tuesday.   I have been thinking it was about time I updated my profile image on my website, and Liana was kind enough to snap a few shots of me and send me her unprocessed digital files for me to do my thing.  Mind you, Liana doesn’t just snap shots.

So as I sat here this morning, I thought what can I do to this image - I want to smooth out my skin, and oh those wrinkles around my eye, curse the Australian sun on my fair skin - years of sun damage can be removed with some very handy photoshop tools.  Not to mention the grey hair making a huge appearance - damn, I thought you couldn’t notice.

It’s strange for me to say these things out aloud, and I am questioning myself as to why on earth I would.  It’s sooooo tempting for me to just make myself look 10 years younger in this image, and you as the viewer would be none the wiser, but why would I do that.  This image was taken on my 43rd birthday.  This is me, and this is who I am (with a bit of lipstick thrown on at the last minute).  This is how my friends and family see me, this is how I walk down the street - why do I want to change who I am in an image?

Hehehe, I have always said to myself I want to grow old gracefully - in saying that, the grey hair is now gone (thanks to my sensational hair dresser).  Everything else can stay, just not the grey hair - it’s baby steps.

have a lovely Monday

me

Seriously, I am still spinning from Liana Hall’s (nee Lehman) Business Bootcamp.  Words cannot express how much have appreciated this kick start to my business.

Over the first two days, we covered a huge amount of business know how to the point of a headache, and then if that wasn’t enough, we covered some more to the point where I just couldn’t fit anymore in. I met some awesome Canberra Photographers, and Photographers from further afar, and together we nutted things out - kinda :-)  On the third day, we were treated - A photoshoot.  I just wanted to thank the awesome Kelly Tunney for firstly hosting this awesome workshop, and secondly organising this sensational couple.  I also want to thank Christine Pobke for making this all happen - you know you seriously rock.
