Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from a photo session?

Firstly, you can expect to have some fun.  Depending on the age of the children, I will often arrive with bubbles in hand and start with just a little play.  I will ask the children to show me their bedrooms, favourite toys etc – this helps me get to know your children, and help them feel more comfortable with me – I will also be looking for the best light.   I love antiques, and often try to incorporate your own favourite and sentimental pieces from around the house into the session.  If your photo session is on location, please feel free to bring along anything that helps me create the story of your family.  I have three children of my own, and know that children don’t sit still, and I don’t expect them to.  I expect your children to run, play, sing and just be themselves.  Smiles are simply wonderful, but only when they are real.  You know how to best bring out the “real” smiles in your children and I will ask you to help me in this regard.  Sessions usually don’t go very well when parents ask their children to sit still and smile on command.

Do you offer Digital Files?

Absolutely. Whether you are seeking large wall displays or digital files to keep and print yourself, I offer the utmost in flexibility.

How long will a session go for?

A session will typically take about 1.5 to 2 hours, but this very much depends on the family and how many people I am photographing.  Some families can take a little longer and that is perfectly fine with me.

How long will it take to receive my photos?

It normally takes me around 1 to 2 weeks to process your images.  You will then receive a password for your private online gallery.   Once you have chosen your images, printing will then take around 2-3 weeks.   If you order a coffee table book, framed images or an album, please allow 6-8 weeks.

Is there a minimum spend?

No, once you have paid your creative session fee, there is no Minimum Spend on your order.  Most of my clients spend between $1000 – $3000.

What if my child is sick on the day?

I suggest that you call me to re-schedule.  Your child may not feel very happy when they are sick, and this will show in the images.

What happens if it is raining?

If it is raining, I will call you to let you know whether we can proceed.   It is most likely that we will need to reschedule.

Is it possible to pay in installments?

Yes, payment plans are available.
