Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from a photo session?

Firstly, you can expect to have some fun.  Depending on the age of the children, I will often arrive with bubbles in hand and start with just a little play.  I will ask the children to show me their bedrooms, favourite toys etc – this helps me get to know your children, and help them feel more comfortable with me – I will also be looking for the best light.   I love antiques, and often try to incorporate your own favourite and sentimental pieces from around the house into the session.  If your photo session is on location, please feel free to bring along anything that helps me create the story of your family.  I have three children of my own, and know that children don’t sit still, and I don’t expect them to.  I expect your children to run, play, sing and just be themselves.  Smiles are simply wonderful, but only when they are real.  You know how to best bring out the “real” smiles in your children and I will ask you to help me in this regard.  Sessions usually don’t go very well when parents ask their children to sit still and smile on command.

Do you offer Digital Files?

Absolutely. I offer the opportunity for my client’s to purchase the digital files in full resolution to use for their personal use.

I Only Want The Digital Files, Do You Offer Them Without Product?

Short Answer – No.

It is important for me, that all of my client’s receive product (e.g. prints), that have been professionally printed and presented to you.  As you can appreciate, once the digital files leave my hands, I loose control of how they are treated, printed and presented.  This of course reflects on my art and my business.  In saying this to you, I am negotiable with the products that I offer in the Digital Collection, so if the current products are not suiting your needs, a print credit is available to you.

How long will a session go for?

A session will typically take about 1.5 hours, but this very much depends on the family and how many people I am photographing.  Some families can take a little longer and that is perfectly fine with me.

How long will it take to receive my photos?

It normally takes me around 1 to 2 weeks to process your images.  You will then receive a password for your private online gallery.   Once you have chosen your images, printing will then take around 2-3 weeks.   If you order a coffee table book, framed images or an album, please allow 6-8 weeks.

Is there a minimum spend?

My Newborn Sessions and Extended Family Sessions only, have a minimum spend.  For all other sessions, once you have paid your creative session fee, there is no Minimum Spend on your order.  Most of my clients spend between $1000 – $3000.

What if my child is sick on the day?

I suggest that you call me to re-schedule.  Your child may not feel very happy when they are sick, and this will show in the images.

What happens if it is raining?

If it is raining, I will call you to let you know whether we can proceed.   It is most likely that we will need to reschedule.

Is it possible to pay in instalments?

Yes, payment plans are available.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

I offer gift vouchers within immediate family members only.  For example, if you wish to give your partner, husband or wife a photography session for their birthday or Christmas, I can package this up as a gift voucher for you.
