This time, 12 years ago, I was holding this little man in my arms for the first time. When I looked into that squishy little face, I couldn't have possibly imagined what an amazing young man he would eventually grow into. And that is exactly what we did. A beautiful afternoon spent with a gorgeous family - Maya, so full of life, and just totally blew me away by counting to 10 at the age of 2 3/4, and Murphy (cutest name ever), just walking a kinda cute sideways stumble. And just as we finished off our photo session, down came the rain.
There is something so very lovely about simplicity, just beautiful emotion and connection. This is absolutely what I love to capture in every family portrait photo session. There is no posing when it comes to photographing 18 month olds, just this - real joy, real laughter, and real connection. And of course one VERY cute little boy.
What a wonderful way to kick off 2012, my very first family session of the year with this awesome family. This was a family reunion.
